At 21 Lettie decided to undergo the long and difficult operations to correct her spine. This entailed two five hour operations and 6 months in a body brace. The transformation was incredible and Lettie's life changed dramatically. She left home moving from Richmond to central London, able to wear fashionable girly clothes and hit the town! Buying a car and a flat she became a real London Girl with all the trimings and lifestyle to match and had 7 wonderful years. Her zest for life and bubbly personality meant she had a great cirlcle of friends both new and old and together they celebrated anything and everything often. Sadly on a flight with friends to Ibiza for another 'hit' of the good life she had her first seizure which signaled the begining of her fight with brain tumours. Two days after her first op she was found in the pub with her friends and Sam celebrating her recovery! This was to be how she lived the rest of her life - determined not to let anything stop her living life to the full. After her radio therapy she backpacked round the world for a year with one of her best friends. Seeing the sights, jumping out of an airoplane, climbing Matchu Pitchu, swiming with dolphins, the year was crammed with all she had always wanted to see.
